Live Activities
Learn how iOS Live Activities show real-time event and crew info on your iPhone Lock Screen without opening the Streets app.
Live Activities bring real-time event information to your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island - so you can stay updated without opening the Streets app. Pin your crew to see member arrivals, or track event check-ins right from your Lock Screen.
Overview
Live Activities are an iOS feature that displays persistent, updating widgets on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island (on supported iPhones). Streets uses Live Activities to show live event information that refreshes automatically - no need to keep the app open.
Streets Live Activities support two main use cases:
- Crew arrivals - Pin your crew to the Lock Screen and see when each member checks in at the venue
- Event check-ins - Organizers can pin a live check-in dashboard to the Lock Screen from the event management screen
Live Activities integrate closely with the Crews feature. When you pin a crew, the Live Activity shows the event name, crew name, and each member's arrival status - updating in real time as people check in.
Live Activities are available on iPhone only (iOS 16.1 or later). Android users can still track crew arrivals and manage events from within the Streets app.
Crew Live Activities
When you're attending an event with a Crew, you can pin your crew to the Lock Screen to see member arrivals without opening Streets. This is especially useful on event day when you're on the way to the venue or waiting for friends.
- Open your Crew page from your ticket order details or the Crews section
- Tap Pin to Lock Screen
- Streets creates a Live Activity showing the event name, crew name, and each member's check-in status
- Updates appear on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as crew members arrive
- The tile changes to Pinned to Lock Screen with a confirmation checkmark
Live Activities stay active for up to 8 hours and refresh automatically when crew members check in at the venue. You'll see arrival notifications like "X has arrived!" without needing to open the app.

Organizer Check-In Live Activity
As an event organizer, you can pin a live check-in dashboard to your Lock Screen from the event management screen. This gives you a real-time view of ticket sales and check-in progress without keeping the app open.
- Open your event from Settings > My Events and tap Manage
- Tap the phone icon in the top navigation bar to start a Live Activity
- A check-in widget appears on your Lock Screen with per-ticket-type breakdown
- The widget updates automatically as attendees check in throughout the event
- Tap the phone icon again to end the Live Activity when you're done
Pin the check-in dashboard before doors open so you can glance at arrival numbers from your Lock Screen while managing the venue.

Requirements
Live Activities require the following:
- iPhone - Live Activities are not available on Android
- iOS 16.1 or later - Update your device to the latest iOS version
- Live Activities enabled - Check Settings > Streets > Live Activities is turned on
- Streets app installed - You must have the Streets app on your device
On iPhone 14 Pro and later, crew and event updates also appear in the Dynamic Island at the top of your screen for quick glances without unlocking your phone.
Tips
For crew Live Activities, pin to your Lock Screen when you're heading to the venue. You'll see arrivals update in real time as your friends check in.
Set up your Crew before event day so everyone has time to accept invites and link their tickets. See our Crews guide for setup instructions.
Live Activities automatically expire after 8 hours. You can also end them manually by tapping the pin button again or dismissing the widget from your Lock Screen.
- Crew arrival tracking depends on venue check-in - members need their tickets ready in the Streets app
- Organizer check-in Live Activities are available from the event management screen on eligible events
- If Live Activities aren't appearing, verify they're enabled in your iPhone Settings for the Streets app
