Crews - Group Event Attendance
Learn how to create a Crew, invite friends by Streets iD or share link, track real-time arrivals, use crew chat, and pin status to your Lock Screen with Live Activities.
Crews let groups of friends attending the same event stay connected and coordinated. Whether you're heading to a concert with your squad or meeting up at a festival, a Crew keeps everyone on the same page - from ticket details to real-time check-in status.
Overview
A Crew is a private group tied to a specific event. Each Crew has a host (the person who created it) and members who have accepted an invite and linked their ticket order. Crews exist to solve a simple problem: when friends buy tickets separately, it's hard to know who's arrived, who's still on the way, and how to coordinate meetups.
With Crews, you can:
- Invite friends by their Streets iD or share a join link
- See each member's check-in progress in real time
- Chat with your Crew without leaving the app
- View each other's orders to coordinate attendance
- Pin crew status to your iOS Lock Screen with Live Activities
Crews are created from your event order details after you purchase a ticket. The host manages the Crew; members join by accepting an invite and binding their own order for the same event.

Creating a Crew
You can create a Crew from any eligible event order - one that hasn't been transferred or resold. The first time you create a Crew, Streets shows a short walkthrough explaining the feature.
- Open the Streets app and go to your ticket
- Navigate to Order Details for the event you're attending
- Find the Create a Crew tile in your order details
- If this is your first Crew, review the walkthrough screens and tap through to continue
- Tap Create a Crew - Streets automatically names it after you (e.g., "Alex's Crew") and opens your new Crew page
As the host, you're immediately added as an active member. Your ticket order is linked to the Crew so your check-in status is visible to everyone in the group.
You need a valid ticket order for the event before creating a Crew. Crews are not available for transferred or resold tickets.

Inviting Members
As the Crew host, you can invite friends in two ways: search by their Streets iD or share a join link. Invited members appear as Pending until they accept and link their ticket order.
Invite by Streets iD
- Open your Crew page
- Tap the Invite button (floating action button at the bottom of the screen)
- In the invite sheet, type your friend's Streets iD in the search field
- Select their profile from the results and tap to send the invite
- They'll receive a pending invite and can accept from their own order details for the same event
Share a Join Link
- Open the invite sheet from your Crew page
- Tap Share Link to generate a join link for your Crew
- Send the link through Messages, social media, or any app on your device
- When a friend opens the link, they're directed to accept the invite and join your Crew
Each Crew has a maximum member limit. If the Crew is full, the Invite button is hidden and new invites cannot be sent until space opens up.

Managing Your Crew
As the Crew host, you have full control over your group. Use the toolbar actions on the Crew page to rename, remove members, or dissolve the Crew entirely.
Rename Your Crew
- Open your Crew page
- Tap the pencil icon in the top navigation bar
- Enter a new name (up to 40 characters)
- Tap Save
Remove Members
- On the Crew member list, tap the X next to a member's name
- Confirm the removal
You can remove active members and pending invites. You cannot remove yourself as the host.
Dissolve the Crew
- Tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top navigation bar
- Select Dissolve Crew
- Confirm - this permanently deletes the Crew for all members
Dissolving a Crew cannot be undone. All members lose access to the group chat and arrival tracking.

Live Arrival Tracking
Once members accept an invite and link their ticket orders, Streets tracks each person's check-in progress in real time. The Crew page updates automatically as members scan in at the venue.
For each active member, you'll see:
- Check-in progress - e.g., "2/3 checked in" showing how many tickets in their order have been scanned
- Status chip - On the way, Arrived, or Checked In
- Arrival badge - A green checkmark on their avatar when they've fully arrived
Members can toggle Share my arrival on the Crew page. When enabled, crew members receive a notification when that person checks in - so everyone knows when "Alex has arrived!"
Because each member's order is linked to the Crew, you can also see ticket details across the group. This makes it easy to coordinate who has which tickets and plan meetups before and during the event.
Arrival tracking depends on venue check-in. Make sure your Crew members have their tickets ready in the Streets app before arriving at the door.

Lock Screen / Live Activities
On iOS, you can pin your Crew to the Lock Screen using Apple's Live Activities. This lets you see crew arrivals without opening the Streets app - perfect when you're on the way to the venue or waiting for friends.
- Open your Crew page (or the Crew tile on your order details)
- Tap Pin to Lock Screen
- Streets creates a Live Activity showing the event name, crew name, and each member's arrival status
- Updates appear on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island (on supported iPhones) as members check in
Once pinned, the tile shows Pinned to Lock Screen with a confirmation checkmark. Live Activities stay active for up to 8 hours and refresh automatically when crew members arrive.
Live Activities are available on iOS only. Android users can still track arrivals from the Crew page in the app.
For more details, see our Live Activities guide.

Crew Chat
Every Crew has a built-in group chat powered by Streets' messaging system. Use it to coordinate plans, share updates, or let everyone know where to meet.
- Open your Crew page
- Tap the chat icon in the top navigation bar
- Send messages, photos, and updates to your entire Crew
Crew chat is available to active members only. Pending invites cannot access the chat until they accept and link their order. The chat uses the same reliable messaging infrastructure as direct messages on Streets.

Tips & Best Practices
- Create your Crew early - Set it up right after buying tickets so friends have time to accept invites and link their orders before event day.
- Use both invite methods - Search by Streets iD for friends already on the app; share a link for anyone who needs a direct invite.
- Pin to Lock Screen on event day - Live Activities are most useful when you're en route and don't want to keep opening the app.
- Enable arrival notifications - Ask Crew members to turn on Share my arrival so everyone gets notified when people check in.
- Name your Crew something recognizable - Rename from the default to something your group will recognize, like "Saturday Night Squad" or "VIP Table Crew."
- Use crew chat for logistics - Share meetup spots, parking tips, or last-minute plan changes in the group chat instead of juggling separate text threads.
- Dissolve when done - After the event, dissolve the Crew if you no longer need it. This keeps your order details tidy.
Crews are an attendee-driven feature - your guests create and manage them from their ticket orders. Encourage group ticket buyers to form a Crew so they can coordinate arrival and stay connected throughout your event. Learn more about managing check-ins in our Manage Your Event guide.
