Tiered Ticketing

Learn how to set up multiple ticket tiers with different names, prices, quantities, and sale windows during event creation on Streets.

Tiered ticketing lets you offer multiple ticket options for a single event - each with its own name, price, quantity, and sale window. Whether you're selling General Admission, VIP, or Early Bird tickets, Streets makes it easy to configure everything during event creation.

Overview

Instead of offering one ticket type at one price, you can create multiple ticket tiers that give attendees different options at different price points. Each tier is fully independent - you control its name, price, available quantity, and when sales open and close.

Common tier examples include:

  • Early Bird - Lower price for attendees who buy early, with sales ending weeks before the event
  • General Admission - Standard entry at your base ticket price
  • VIP - Premium access at a higher price with limited availability
  • Last Minute - Higher-priced tier that opens closer to event day

Tiered tickets are set up during event creation in the Tickets step of the wizard. You can also add or edit tiers later from your event management screen.

Why use tiers?

Tiered pricing helps you maximize revenue, reward early buyers, and offer premium experiences - all from a single event listing.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to add ticket tiers while creating or editing an event. For the full wizard walkthrough, see our Create Event guide.

Configuring Each Tier

Every ticket tier has its own settings. Here's what you can configure per tier:

  • Name - The label attendees see when choosing a ticket (e.g., "VIP Table" or "Early Bird GA")
  • Price - Set independently for each paid tier
  • Quantity - Maximum number of tickets available for that tier
  • Sale Start Date/Time - When this tier goes on sale
  • Sale End Date/Time - When this tier stops selling (can be before event start or at event start)
  • Per-Person Limit - Optional cap on how many tickets one person can buy for this tier
Staggered sales windows:

Each tier can have different sale start and end dates. For example, set Early Bird sales to end 30 days before the event, then open General Admission at the same time. When Early Bird sells out or its window closes, attendees automatically see the next available tier.

Tips

Start with Early Bird

Create an Early Bird tier with a lower price and an earlier sale end date to drive early purchases. When it closes, your General Admission tier takes over automatically.

Limit VIP quantities

Keep VIP or premium tiers scarce by setting a low quantity cap. Scarcity can increase perceived value and encourage faster purchases.

Pair tiers with promo codes

You can apply promo codes to specific ticket tiers. See our Promo Codes guide for details on targeting discounts to individual tiers.

  • Use clear, descriptive tier names so attendees understand what each option includes
  • Review tier availability in your event management dashboard after going live
  • Paid tiers require a connected Stripe account - see our Stripe Connect guide
